Latest Starlink news [Update]

Reading the latest Starlink service conditions For the unlimited roaming package, it appears that the “Maritime” option (formerly “Priority Data”) is formalized for use beyond the coastal zone of 12 nautical miles. It can therefore still be activated as in the past for offshore use..

Unlimited roaming : mode Maritime

Enable :

  • Web app : go to “Subscriptions”, select the desired service line, then under “Data”, activate “Maritime Mode”.
  • Application : tap the person icon, then on “Data usage” and activate “Maritime mode”. Maritime mode is billed per GB and takes effect immediately once activated. It will remain activated until deactivated by you in your account. Maritime mode provides higher network priority than Roaming data. Although it is intended for use on water, you can activate Maritime mode on land (billed per GB) and benefit from a higher priority service than with Roaming data.

Note : Maritime mode is required to connect on international waters (beyond 12 nautical miles from the earth). Maritime mode data will appear on your next invoice and will be included in subsequent billing cycles until deactivated by you. ”

Excellent news for long -term boaters despite the increase in the 79 down to 89 € recently. Do not forget about address changes after two months outside the subscription region, and above all don't forget to deactivate the Maritime option when approaching the coast.
