I presented in September 2023 (¹) the latest mobile communication device of the Iridium company : the GO! Exec®. Iridium has just announced the availability of its new social network application Chat App In Apple Store and Google Play.
The app Iridium Chat comes enrich the Iridium device GO! Exec® (²), with its satellite Wi-Fi access which operates the global network of Iridium® satellite. Thanks to built-in compression, Iridium Chat allows you to send messages, to share images and locate yourself transparently, wherever we are on the Earth. Unlike standard applications compatible with Iridium Go! Exec®, Iridium Chat uses Iridium Messaging Transport®, a technology providing users with permanent real time messaging.
Functions and characteristics
- Sending and receiving messages being connected to Iridium Go! Exec® and also via Wi-Fi or cellular data.
- Group conversations that can accommodate until 50 persons.
- Images sharing : the built-in compression tool improves the user experience thanks to faster loading time and network efficiency (¹).
- Location sharing: a clickable link displays the user's position in the recipient's default mapping application.
- Contacts synchronisation : contacts on smartphones and mobiles are synchronized and sorted so that Iridium Chat users are easy to find.
A convenient application that fully exploits the capabilities of the Certus® system 100 used by this device. To download for free in the’Apple Store (iOS/iPadOS 15 minimum) or Google Play (Android 8.0 minimum).
