The newspaper Le Monde published in November 2024 this great study in his collection « Nature ».
Prefaced by Jean-Louis Etienne, our national explorer that we no longer present, this extremely didactic scientific work allows us to deepen our knowledge of the climate, meteorology, and disturbances they undergo.
Superbly illustrated by a very neat iconography, the texts are intended to be educational and within the reach of any non -scientific reader. The book is broken down into four large chapters :
- Climate – atmosphere
- Atmospheric phenomena – climate mechanisms
- Meteorology – explanations of time
- Disruption – humans and Earth
Popularization allows real deepening of knowledge. Data updating, particularly those concerning climate change, warn us on the imminence to find concrete solutions, if this is still possible, to limit, stop, even reverse our human impact.
For the boaters that we are, this opus brings us a more general understanding of the weather phenomena that we encounter on a daily basis during our navigations, and offer us to improve our interpretation of the weather forecasts that we receive in our applications. An essential book in our onboard library !
