In a few days the new application for Virtual Regatta will be released eSail4VR. Developed jointly by Olivier Bouyssou (Weather4D) and Henri Laurent (SailGrib), currently in intensive beta testing, the application will be available for the legendary race : the Rum Route. The real revolution lies in the fact that it works on all media !

eSail4VR on Mac (Large screen), Windows (Macbook), Android (Samsung TabS5e), iPad (Air 3), iPhone (12 Mini)
Platform
eSail4VR runs natively on :
- Android (V.6.0 and +)
- iOS/iPadOS (iOS 13 and +)
- macOS (OS 10.14 and +, OS 11 and +)
- Windows (10 and +, ARM)
In addition, The application is synchronized in real time on all devices : a routing made on an Android smartphone will be immediately visible on the PC, and vice versa, This is true regardless of the media. We dreamed of it, they did !
Just like Weather4VR and SailGrib VR, The application will be able to be used in a basic free version with limited functions but which will still allow users to test it. A subscription of 3 Renewable month will allow access to all advanced features after a one-week free trial.

And then ?
The icing on the cake is that eSail4VR is just the first phase of the Future navigation app " Navimetrix », for which Henri Laurent and Olivier Bouyssou have created a joint company SOFT4SAIL. All resources will be shared : GRIB file servers, Satellite images, cartography, data rate. The synchronization will be total between the different devices used thanks to a proprietary "Cloud". The app will integrate the best of SailGrib and Weather4D, and much more.
But unlike the version for Virtual Regatta, the current navigation apps of both developers will still be available on the Stores, Kept operational, subject to the corrections essential to the evolution of operating systems, but they will not see any further development.
However, This is a complex development, with four hands, which will take many more months to reach our devices. Patience therefore…
