Among the many new features brought by iOS 11, I particularly appreciated the improvement in the multitasking functions. The addition of a retractable "Dock" in the MacOS way, the "SlideOver" function combined with the "SplitView" function already present in iOS 10. This will greatly improve the use of navigation apps.
The handling of these new features is quickly explained in Apple website . As a reminder, The "Dock" is a bottom ribbon that displays the icons of the permanent applications you have chosen, and at right side the three last opened applications.
The "Dock" appears by swiping your finger from the bottom of the screen upwards. By extending the slide you can access the new Control Center. The "SlideOver" function allows you to drag a second application into a window superimposed on an already open application, without altering the functioning of the latter. Drag this window to the right of the screen again and it integrates into "SplitView", that is to say two application in juxtaposed windows. This works in both landscape and portrait modes..
Below a small demonstration with iNavX open, then opening Weather4D Routing & Navigation.
To make it working perfectly, Developers must have taken the trouble to adapt their applications to this new display mode, which for the moment, is not yet achieved for all.
The appearance of these new function will facilitate the view of two applications allowing to display two different charts, or a navigation application and another tidal app, etc,. I just experienced it for a few days along the Costa Brava, it's frankly practical.
About the new iPhones (8/X) that arrive at the same time as the system iOS 11, I urge you to learn about the many new features with excellent videos on the web site Mac4Ever, it will make you win, like me, Precious time.

Thank you for your answer.
Indeed, inavx is no longer in the location service. Everything else is ok.
How to reactivate it ?
Sincerely
Bernard
Hello Francis
I believe there is a new problem between inavx and the latest iOS update 11.0.3.
A "connection unavailable" message appears at the top left of the map, and the instruments are no longer visible.
All the other apps that use location work just fine on my iPad Air (GPS road and marine navigation)
Are you aware of this?
Sincerely
Bernard
I don't have these problems.
1. verify that iNavX has not been disabled from Location Services
2. Check that your account is still connected
3. Make sure you're displaying the instrument bar (blue triangle icon at the top left).
P.S. An update is available today.
Hello Francis,
Very nice demonstration of the multiple possibilities of Weather 4D 2.0 and iOS 11. Bravo.
I tried to install iPolar with street view but the app takes up the whole screen and sends Weather back to the dock. The objective is to consult the polars in real time , Ideally, Weather 4D would send the boat's speed and wind data to iPolar to display on the polar graph. A utopia ? This would be all the more interesting with the new ultrasonic sensor available at itabnav. Possible telescoping between data from wifi and Bluetooth ?
Thank you again for all this information. Sincerely. Daniel
iPolar will soon be integrated into Weather4D 2.0 (at no extra cost). Concerning utopia, See with the developer, I don't say anything.
Formidable
Thank you Francis !
Can both apps retrieve the information from the multiplexer at the same time? ?
Oui, with a Miniplex-3Wi used in this video. An iPad or iPhone, and only one, can connect both in TCP with an app (iNavX) and in UDP with another (here Weather4D 2.0).
Very clear
Merci
Formidable !
It's going to be very helpful, Indeed.
Thank you Francis !
