1. And unless I am mistaken the "open in" walked under Incax and Seaiq, It doesn't work anymore, While Iiridium stops turning around the pot, W4D has nothing to do with this bug. And I will seriously study the competing offers, Party of France the 2 th October, currently pending colony for the canal, I'm going to hit my Pacific without … Phew not quite, I still have my iPad on board 1 who can not have been black for a while and who ultimately never let go.
   Iridium may be losing some customers … But above all, Before crossing not forget to test everything … Including this kind of bugs.

   1. IT'S DONE ! Iridium Mail & WeB is updated version 1.0.6 With correction of the disputed bug. And faster than expected ! The many complaints received have been effective.

2. I just acquired an iridium go! and its outdoor antenna, According to the advice that I was given. We do not receive the GIB files, which is still the goal n ° 1. And I saw that the test with the antenna was completely disappointing in terms of flow. Can we consider being reimbursed all this bazaar ?

   1. You must not exaggerate. Before making a purchase, we inquire and weigh the pros and cons. GO! has not been designed specifically for GRIB files, that devilish ! But for a collective use of communications from smartphones.
      I have, for my own, Supplied on my blog of objective elements allowing to question the interest of this solution in relation to a classic Iridium phone (9555 or 9575).

3. I too have this problem. Iridium’s tech services dept suggested it was the app. Then suggested I try Xgate. This is unacceptable.

   Here is the 2nd response of the iridium support.
   The problem should be resolved in mid-December.

   Thank you for clarification. We are unaware of how Weather 4D PRO application works or interacts with Iridium Mail & Web app, but from your description it seems that Weather 4D PRO utilizes attachment capability in Iridium Mail & Web app to download GRIB files and transfer them to its application. There is a known issue in the current Iridium Mail & Web app that disallows email attachments to be downloaded. Note that this issue only affects users that have upgraded to iOS8 platform. Iridium has fixed the issue and is currently testing the updated application. Anticipated release timeframe for the updated app is mid-December.

   In the meantime, users are advised not to upgrade their devices to iOS 8.

   Thank you for contacting Iridium. Sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with downloading GRIB files using Iridium AxcessPoint and Weather 4D Pro. We would like to ask you a few questions to better understand the problem and help you resolve it:

   1) Are you able to use Iridium Mail & Web app on your mobile device to send and receive emails successfully?

   2) Have you contacted the provider of Weather 4D PRO app – its possible that the issue might be with the app itself instead of Iridium network.

   3) Have you recently updated/upgraded to the latest version of weather 4D PRO software?

   1. The answer is completely next to it ! W4D has nothing to do with the Iridium Mail dysfunction & Web app : There is simply no possibility of transferring an attachment received in mail & Web with the "Open in… »While it works perfectly with the latest Xgate updates. These are the same applications.

8. Just found this. Gutted!
   I’m doing the ARC rally in 12 days time and for the GO for weather, I have the same issue, I can’t open attachments.
   Any ideas when the update will be released?
   Is there any way around this issue?

   I do the transquadra (dodge 250) And Weather 4D Pro served me well during the 1st stage St Nazaire Madeira.
   When you can again be able to receive compatible iridium files to the application ?

10. Hallo Francis,
    This problem with Iridium and Xgate will never completely go away because the two companies are basically not interested. The big corporate and military users have Iridium’s attention and certainly not a few sailors on the big ocean.
