1. Et sauf erreur le « open in » marchait sous Inavx et SEAiq, It no longer works, then that iridium stop beating around the Bush, W4D has nothing to do with this bug. And I will seriously consider competitive offerings, from France the 2 th October, currently awaiting a Colon for the channel, I'll typing the Pacific without … Phew not quite, I have still on my Ipad 1 which it can no longer be a black for a while and who ultimately do never dropped me.
   Iridium will may be losing some customers … But above all, before crossing don't forget to test everything … Including this kind of bugs.

   1. 'S DONE IT ! Iridium Mail & Web is updated version 1.0.6 with the contentious bug correction. And faster than expected ! Many complaints have been effective.

2. I have just acquired an Iridium GO! and its external antenna, According to the advice that you gave me. It does not receive the Grib files, What is still the objective n ° 1. And I saw that the test with the antenna was completely disappointing in terms of flow. Can we envisage to recover all this mess ?

   1. It still should not exaggerate. Before making a purchase, It fills and it weighs the pros and cons. GO! was not specifically designed for the GRIB files, what the heck ! But for collective use of communications from smartphones.
      I have, for my own, provided on my blog of objective evidence to question the interest of this solution compared to a classical Iridium phone (9555 or 9575).

3. I too have this problem. Iridium’s tech services dept suggested it was the app. Then suggested I try Xgate. This is unacceptable.

5. Nous venons de faire les frais de la negligence de cette compagnie envers les utilisateurs d’Ipad. Nous arrivons de notre transat Canaries-Guadeloupe et n’avons pas pu ouvrir un seul fichier Grib, nous avons du faire appel a un ami qui a bien voulu nous transmettre de la météo par sms.

   Le problème devrait être résolu mi-décembre.

   Thank you for clarification. We are unaware of how Weather ford PRO application works or interacts with Iridium Mail & Web app, but from your description it seems that Weather ford PRO utilizes attachment capability in Iridium Mail & Web app to download GRIB files and transfer them to its application. There is a known issue in the current Iridium Mail & Web app that disallows email attachments to be downloaded. Note that this issue only affects users that have upgraded to iOS8 platform. Iridium has fixed the issue and is currently testing the updated application. Anticipated release timeframe for the updated app is mid-December.

   In the meantime, users are advised not to upgrade their devices to iOS 8.

   Thank you for contacting Iridium. Sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with downloading GRIB files using Iridium AxcessPoint and Weather ford Pro. We would like to ask you a few questions to better understand the problem and help you resolve it:

   1) Are you able to use Iridium Mail & Web app on your mobile device to send and receive emails successfully?

   2) Have you contacted the provider of Weather ford PRO app – its possible that the issue might be with the app itself instead of Iridium network.

   3) Have you recently updated/upgraded to the latest version of weather ford PRO software?

W4D n'a rien à voir avec le dysfonctionnement de Iridium Mail & Web app : There is simply no possibility of transferring an attachment received in Mail & Web avec la fonction « Ouvrir dans… » Alors que cela fonctionne parfaitement avec les dernières mises à jour de XGate. These are the same applications.

8. Just found this. Gutted!
   I’m doing the ARC rally in 12 days time and for the GO for weather, I have the same issue, I can’t open attachments.
   Any ideas when the update will be released?
   Is there any way around this issue?

   I do the Transquadra (Cabral 250) and Weather 4 d Pro served me well during the 1st stage St Nazaire Madère.
   When after you can again receive us compatible files from Iridium to the application ?

10. Hallo Francis,
    This problem with Iridium and Xgate will never completely go away because the two companies are basically not interested. The big corporate and military users have Iridium’s attention and certainly not a few sailors on the big ocean.
