A test onboard with Navigation Mac

During a weekend of January a little sad, we joined the port of L'Herbaudière, Isle of Noirmoutier, via the picturesque Gois passage at low tide.

We, that is to say, a boating journalist, my wife and myself.

The GRIB files in GPSNavX and MacENC

Menu Weather in these two applications can make a request from a GRIB file weather forecasts and then see it on the open map. Function Request GRIB sends a request to the server Saildocs.com returning to the mailbox file requested. You can then get the file in attachment and store it to the location of your choice (²).

Function Show GRIB will then see the file on the card and scroll forecasts. You may also want to refer to Video tutorial MacENC No. 3 on the website.

Get a route from a design in MacENC (continue)

Since my article 20 November about the subject, the version 7.40 of MacENC brought the possibility to draw straight lines on the map with the "Annotation" tool.

 

 

This can now create routes more easily than freehand, creating less of waypoints.
